So there’s this kid Illecism here in Sacramento who’s dubbed “The best rapper you’ve never heard of”. IMO he is probably one of the best unsigned acts out there. Today he released his mixtape titled For Da Boy or 4DB.
For me this isn’t about “supporting local music” and all that shit, this is about supporting GOOD music and this kid can spit. ...

My boys over at Lucky Lefty’s celebrated the 1 Year Anniversary of their store, which opened on Black Friday 2008. The party was at their shop in downtown Sacramento @ 1924 16th Street.
Guests included Benny Gold and crew who came out from San Francisco and NikeTalk legend (lulz) and blogger Neek came all the way out from Vegas.

So Good Wood, a NY based brand, did these “Jesus Pieces” out of wood and were selling them for $60 in their online store. The Genius caught wind of this and called for a boycott on the pieces on his blog, referring to them as “Bootleg”.

Chip Tha Ripper - The Cleveland Show (Mixtape)
Chip is another rapper out of Cleveland who had crept up onto the scene. He was featured on fellow Clevelandian’s Kid Cudi’s album, along with on his Kid Named Cudi mixtape. The Cleveland Show is his third mixtape I believe, but clearly his most anticipated with appearances from Chuck English of the Cool Kids and Curren$y
